Vince Gill and Amy Grant Book a Dozen ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ Shows for 2018
Vince Gill and Amy Grant are on track to break their own record. The beloved couple are set to perform a string of 12 Christmas at the Ryman shows in 2018, beating out the 10 sold-out shows they scheduled in 2017, which at the time was their longest-running trek of the series.
Christmas at the Ryman has been a longtime tradition during the holiday season in Nashville, and it often sees the couple performing to sold out crowds. "I’ve always loved Christmas music, and I’ve toured the country singing it for years. But, there’s nothing sweeter than coming home to the Ryman Auditorium each holiday season to join Vince on this legendary stage, making even more music and memories with old friends and new," Grant says in a statement in the Tennessean.
"Every other aspect of life has changed, but the gift of returning to these songs, returning to each other...that’s really where my joy in continuing to do this is."
The 2018 shows take place Nov. 28-29, Dec. 3, Dec. 5-6, Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 16-20; tickets are available now.
Gill spent part of 2017 on the road with the Eagles following the death of Glenn Frey, performing with the band at numerous festivals and tour dates. "In my mind, I always thought I’d have made a good Eagle. But in a million years, I never would have seen this coming," he says of joining the band. "It’s pretty surreal. I turned 60 recently, and to get to be a part of this amazing legacy of songs, that’s the greatest part of all this for me."
He recently stunned the audience during Country Radio Seminar with a performance of "Forever Changed," an unreleased song inspired by his own experience with sexual harassment.
