WE Fest 2016 Lineup: Billy Currington

Fans who catch Billy Currington live at WE Fest 2016 are going to see one of country music's best vocalists deliver nothing but non-stop hits.

The Georgia native possesses a bluesy, soulful voice that has powered a long string of hits and No. 1 singles, including "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "Good Directions," "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer" and "People Are Crazy."

Currington moved from Georgia to Nashville after high school to pursue country music, landing a deal as a songwriter and scoring cuts by George Strait, Tracy Byrd and Marty Raybon. He signed to Mercury Records in 2003. His debut single, "Walk a Little Straighter," was inspired by his difficult relationship with his alcoholic stepfather, and featured a chorus that Currington wrote when he was 12 years old. In 2004 he scored a big hit as Shania Twain's duet partner on "Party for Two," and he's gone on to land a long list of hits, many of which showcase an easygoing, carefree take on life and living.

The singer-songwriter released his most recent album, Summer Forever, in 2014, and he'll bring songs from that project, as well as his greatest past hits and possibly some interesting covers, to WE Fest 2016 when he performs at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on Friday (Aug. 5). The second day of the massive three-day country music and camping festival will also feature sets from William Michael Morgan, Montgomery Gentry, Granger Smith and headliner Kid Rock.
