5 CMA Awards Performances That Will Make Us Squeal
We now know who is performing at the 2017 CMA Awards, and we can probably guess what they'll sing. There are a couple of potential CMAs moments that have us practicing our squeal. Here are five of them.
Chris Stapleton
With a new album dropping just one month after the 2017 CMA Awards, it's possible Chris Stapleton will perform new music. White "Broken Halos" is his current single, it's only inside the Top 40 and thus a longshot for his performance number. No, more likely the Entertainer of the Year nominee will do something special. If JT returned to the stage, we wouldn't be mad about it.
Thomas Rhett
Thomas Rhett brings the party, and lately that party has included horns, which are very much the new black. The "Unforgettable" singer says he's dreamed of carrying a full horn section with him on tour — this would be a great chance to warm them up for his 2018 tour with Kenny Chesney!
Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert makes us cry the good kind of tears when she sings this one ... It happened at the ACM Awards in April, and even though she went with "Pink Sunglasses" at the CMTs in June, she'll steer towards her new single again now. Encore once more please.
Carrie Underwood
This is a big question mark because it seems very possible that Carrie Underwood will perform something from a new album. Her last album was on her old record label, so all those tunes can be scratched as possibilities. Unless she and Keith Urban bring back "The Fighter" or she leans into a tribute, the CMA Awards co-host will be debuting something new. Just remember where you heard it.
The Collaborations
Okay, we don't know these yet, and we can't imagine the possibilities this early. Beyonce surprised everyone in 2016, and Justin Timberlake did the same before that. Will there be another moment that everyone will be talking about on Nov. 9? We say yes and we guess it will involve Taylor Swift.
