Before They Were Famous: Luke Bryan
Before he worked the bar and country club circuit, Luke Bryan worked the grocery store circuit. His first job was at Rubo's in Leesburg, Ga. "I worked during the summers on Monday and Tuesday. I stocked and cleaned up the produce. They paid me under the table … I peeled off all of the brown lettuce,” Bryan says. When he was 15 he got a job as a cashier at K-Mart, but that proved to be too long of a commute, so he went back to Rubo's. Later he helped his dad with the family's peanut and fertilizer business, but soon quit to head to Nashville, where he landed a publishing deal within just two months.
