Brad Paisley Joins Demi Lovato for Powerful ‘Stone Cold’ at iHeart Awards
While most of his colleagues were at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night (April 3), Brad Paisley was in Inglewood, Calif., for the 2016 iHeart Awards, where the country singer shared the stage with Demi Lovato for a memorable performance.
Paisley kicked off the performance of Lovato's emotional "Stone Cold" on a small round stage in the middle of the audience. Seated on a stool, Paisley began playing a bluesy guitar riff before being accompanied by Lovato's pristine vocals and equally impressive piano player.
The riveting collaboration had Paisley putting his own guitar work on the song while seated on a stool on the stage beside Lovato. Cell phones illuminated the arena while Lovato sang of trying to get over an ex. Paisley accentuated Lovato's powerful vocals.
The country star has his own fair share of heartbreak songs, but he is more likely to play matchmaker. At a recent tour stop, the singer assisted in playing photographer when a couple got engaged during his song "She's Everything."
As the man got down on one knee to propose, the crowd went wild. Paisley made the most of the moment, grabbing an audience member's phone and snapping a few photos for the newly-engaged couple. He then congratulated them with a handshake for the man and a big hug for the man’s future wife, who was in tears.
“All right, let’s let them dance,” Paisley said before going back to singing “She’s Everything” while filming the couple dancing on the stage.
Paisley will headline 2016 Country Jam this summer.
