Brandy Neelly Wins Her Way to Hollywood With the Hank Williams Classic ‘Your Cheatin’ Heart’ on ‘American Idol’
Brandy Neelly wowed the judges on 'American Idol' with a very strong version of the Hank Williams classic 'Your Cheatin' Heart' to win her way to Hollywood -- for the second time.
The 17-year-old singer also took part in the 11th season of the hit Fox show before being eliminated. Her backstory is the stuff country songs are made of -- her troubled birth parents were unable to keep her, and her birth father decided to give her to her aunt to raise.
Neelly offered a sultry, soulful version of the country classic that demonstrated both a powerful, soulful voice, and technical control.
"That's a great song choice!" Keith Urban exclaimed. "You took it and made it your own."
Mariah Carey called her "A + amazing," while Nicki Minaj gushed, "I think you're super, super special."
The Louisville, Kentucky native made it through to Hollywood with a unanimous "yes" from all four judges.
