Brooks & Dunn and Luke Combs will be performing on television for the first time together at the 2019 ACM Awards Sunday night (April 7). Combs re-recorded "Brand New Man" with the duo for their latest studio album, Reboot.

The trio were all jokes after their ACM rehearsal. "It's so funny I screwed it up on the first take. That's all we do is screw up," Ronnie Dunn laughs. "I don't think I've done it right yet."

Dunn admits that Combs, on the other hand, has no such problems—even calling him a "one-hit wonder" when it comes to rehearsing. Brooks adds, "He just came in and sang the hell out of it, it was great!"

Combs admits that it was a "lot of pressure going into the recording session," however. "I was listening to their cassettes, and here I am—ACMs, Brooks & Dunn," he says, clearly stunned.

"When their music was coming out, it was kind of like the heyday of me being a kid in the car with my parents listening to the radio, so I just gravitated heavily towards Brooks & Dunn," Combs recalls to Taste of Country and other media.

Combs is walking into this year's award show with a win for New Male Artist of the Year. He's also nominated for Male Artist of the Year.
