Pieces seem to be falling into place to have Carrie Underwood participate in the opening theme for NBC's 'Sunday Night Football.' The singer has promised to make a big announcement on Tuesday, just as NBC Sports is said to be making a major announcement regarding a talent addition to the broadcast at 4PM ET.

Underwood posted Monday:

GuySpeed reports that NBC will conduct a conference call today, and a big announcement will follow. Faith Hill had performed 'Waiting All Day for Sunday Night' -- based on Joan Jett's 'I Hate Myself for Loving You' -- since 2007, before announcing last month that she was parting ways with the show.

"I’ve just let everyone there know it’s time 2 let someone else rock the open," she said at the time. "Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF – I’ll b watching!!!”

Pop star Pink originally performed the introduction, but was replaced after one season. It's not clear if the new singer would perform the same song, or if a new theme would be introduced. The first 'Sunday Night Football' game is set for September 8, when the N.Y. Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys. Underwood previously dated Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
