Chase Rice is readying the followup to his 2014 release Ignite the Night and says he will take a new, mature direction on his next album.

"By far, it will be the most authentic record I've done," Rice tells Rolling Stone Country. "This record is going to be a lot more me, a lot less girls, trucks and a perfect night. It's going to have a lot more substance about what I'm singing about."

While he admits there will still be a place on the album for party songs, it won't make up the entire release. "It's a lot more substance to who I am as a person," Rice asserts.

The singer is done releasing singles from his previous project, and a new song off his upcoming record can be expected within the next few months.

"I wanted to get a few more singles off my current record, but my writing is so much better and there is so much dynamic stuff that I'm writing about," he insists. "It's a more mature me."

Rice is hoping for his forthcoming project to be released next summer and says he has half the album written. Until then, he continues his JD and Jesus headlining tour with the Cadillac Three. Complete dates on here.

The singer is also a headliner on the 2015 Taste of Country Christmas Tour in Texas, Dec. 18 and 19. Buy tickets below.
