Dan + Shay singer Dan Smyers is following his partner's lead into matrimony. The rising star has gotten engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Abby Law.

Smyers shared the news via Instagram on Friday (Nov. 18), posting a picture of the young couple happily together in Hawaii, with Law's left hand conspicuously up near her face to put her engagement ring on display. They are posed in front a harbor, with a rainbow spanning the sky behind them.

"We're gonna save all the animals together, FOREVER," he writes. "I love you, @abbydlaw! (And yes, the Hawaii rainbow is real)."

Smyers' musical partner, Shay Mooney, got engaged in August, and in October, he and his fiancee revealed they are expecting their first child. After Mooney announced his engagement, Smyers said it was just a matter of time until he and Law made it official, admitting that people asked him about it all the time.

"Everyone. Everyone. Especially her," he stated.

Many younger artists decide to stay silent about their relationship status for the sake of appealing to a wider group of fans, and Smyers admits he and Mooney have experienced some pressure not to be so open about their relationships. But he feels that's antithetical to them and their music.

“That’s not what it’s about for us,” he says. “The music we write is pretty obviously about love and girls and treating girls right. I just don’t think it’d be genuine if we lived it any other way.”

The duo scored a No. 1 hit with "From the Ground Up," which may well go on to become a popular wedding song for years to come. Their current single is another romantic ballad titled "How Not To."
