Dan + Shay were shocked when they saw a tweet from Demi Lovato sharing her love for one of their new songs, "Speechless," and they're grateful for her support.

Not long after the country duo dropped their latest single "Speechless," Lovato heard the track and revealed during a Twitter Q&A with fans that it was currently her favorite song.

"We had no idea that was going to happen," the duo's Dan Smyers assures Taste of Country Night's Sam Alex. "That was totally organic, it was legit."

Multiple fans replied to the tweet, sharing their love for the sentimental song and requesting that pop star cover it on her Tell Me You Love Me Tour. It seems that there may be some overlap in the two fanbases, as some recommended other Dan + Shay tracks for Lovato to listen to.

"She has a huge fanbase, they're super passionate. They're showing good love," Smyers raves, adding that they saw a massive spike in their own social media numbers. "Anytime she Instagram stories or Snapchats anything, they repost it millions of times. We saw all those first and then we went back and checked out her page and sure enough, she was hyping out the new music. It's awesome."

The pop star later revealed that she would sing with the "Tequila" duo should the opportunity arise.

A collaboration is not far fetched, as Lovato has already shared her talents with the country music world, performing with Brad Paisley on the duet "Without a Fight." Following its 2016 release, she revealed that she hopes to return to the genre.

"I grew up listening to country music. My mom was a country singer, and being able to sing it finally has been kind of like a dream come true. Hopefully I’ll be doing some more of it," she says in a behind-the-scenes interview on the set of the video.

She also shared in the recent fan Q&A that some of the songs she's currently writing lean to the side of country. "When I write by myself, it always ends up country now," she writes.

"Speechless" is featured on Dan + Shay's self-titled album, set to drop on Friday (June 22).
