Danny Gokey, the 'American Idol' Season 8 contestant who is now fully pursuing his post-'Idol' career as a country singer, has a firm opinion on the outcome of Season 10. Gokey, 31 -- who placed third during his season -- he disagrees with America's choice of Scotty McCreery as the new 'American Idol.'

Country Weekly asked Gokey which contestant he thought should have snatched the crown this season, and his answer was runner-up Lauren Alaina. "I mean, if you're talking purely about the voice, Lauren wins," the spectacled Gokey said while backstage at the publication's Fashion Show event this week.

Maybe Gokey should have voted for Alaina a few more times. Or maybe he should give winner McCreery some props! He was pretty candid about his thoughts on McCreery and 'Idol' in the past, so his opinion comes as no surprise.

Alaina and McCreery both have had impressive debuts on the charts with their first singles, and they have been making the rounds around Nashville this week. Last night, they made their very first appearance at the CMT Music Awards.
