American Idol finalist Caleb Lee Hutchinson won over scores of fans with his deep-voiced, pure country vocals, which he put to shining spotlight on the second night of the season's two-part finale Monday night (May 21) in a duet with Darius Rucker.

The two singers—who were admirably matched in timbre and tone—gave a warm rendition of Rucker's "Wagon Wheel," which was originally recorded by Old Crow Medicine Show and covered by Rucker in 2013. Hutchinson handled the smooth harmonizing nicely, accompanying the pair on a banjo for a bit of a change.

A bit later in the broadcast, before the winner was announced, Hutchinson told the audience that he's actually dating his rival for the prize, Maddie Poppe. The couple performed a lovely version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" together before the season's prize was revealed.

The second night of the finale hosted Rucker, as well as performances from Gary Clark Jr., Nick Jonas and Mustard, Bebe Rexha, Patti LaBelle, Yolanda Adams, and Kermit the Frog.
