Dierks Bentley is standing on top of the world, thanks to his well-received performance of his new single, 'Am I the Only One,' which he performed last night at the ACMs. Afterward, Bentley received a text from country music icon George Jones, which he promptly posted on his Twitter account.

Bentley tweeted the following message: "Favorite text of my career: 'Hey George and Nancy Jones here, love your new song [and] watching you on the awards. So proud of you.' #ACMAwards."

The singer was apparently beyond psyched about receiving that ringing endorsement from the country music legend and his missus!

Bentley, who started out last night's performance in the tunnel of the Mandalay Bay Casino before eventually ending up on the stage, performing for thousands of fans in the flesh and millions more who were watching on TV, certainly turned in one of the best performances of the ACMs. 'Am I the Only One,' which Bentley has been road-testing while on tour, is slated to appear on the singer's forthcoming sixth studio album, which follows up last year's 'Up on the Ridge.' Judging from the ACM audience's response and George and Nancy Jones' text, Bentley has another memorable country hit on his hands.

The new album was tracked at Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville, N.C., where Bentley and his cast of  musicians both lived and recorded. They managed to create 15 songs in a mere five days. Fans were able to witness the process, which was streamed live via a web cam.
