Florida Georgia Line Nab Three ACM Decade Awards: ‘These Are Massive Honors’
Florida Georgia Line have a series of new awards to add to their collections. The duo's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard have been decorated with three new awards from the Academy of Country Music, created in honor of the their trailblazing efforts.
FGL have been named as the first recipients of the ACM Breakout Artist of the Decade Award, while their career-defining hit "Cruise," which spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2013, has been recognized with the ACM Single of the Decade Award. Additionally, their record-breaking duet with Bebe Rexha, "Meant to Be," which sat at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart for 50 weeks, has been honored with the ACM Music Event of the Decade Award.
“This is mind-blowing. These are three huge, massive honors," Kelley said when he and Hubbard were surprised with the trophies backstage at the final show on their Can't Say I Ain't Country Tour at the FivePoint Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif. "It really does mean a lot – it’s an amazing, humbling way to end this season of life and this tour."
"It’s been an incredible year, incredible tour – there’s been a family, a bond, and a brotherhood that’s happened out here, [and I] couldn’t imagine a better way to finish this tour out," Hubbard adds.
The new accolades give the "Simple" singers a total of nine ACM Awards. Their three ACM Decade Awards are among a series of new decade-specific honors the organization has created to honor country music's most impactful artists.
Florida Georgia Line recetly wrapped their Can't Say I Ain't Country Tour. They'll launch a Vegas residency in November. Florida Georgia Line tickets are available for all of their upcoming shows.
