Florida Georgia Line + Backstreet Boys: The Matchup We Didn’t Know We Needed
Country music’s collaborations are all over the place lately, but this one might take the cake for most unexpectedly delightful. Florida Georgia Line teamed up with the Backstreet Boys for a new song called “God, Your Mama and Me,” and the result is a laid-back, unbelievably catchy tune with country, soul and pop sensibilities.
The song appears on Florida Georgia Line's new Dig Your Roots album, and this song fits perfectly with that theme lyrically. A tribute to an unconditional love for a significant other, Tyler Hubbard says they loved the song immediately when they heard it.
“‘God, Your Mama, and Me’ is just such a well-written song. A song that when we heard it, we fell in love with it. We never really heard it said that way, you know, and heard it put that way, but it’s so true and that’s how we felt about our wives and just naturally drawn to that song,” he comments in a video on Instagram about the inspiration for the tune.
Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter chimes in on the second verse, with other boyband members like A.J. McLean featured in other sections of the song and all five providing those seamless harmonies we all remember. The "God, Your Mama and Me" collaboration is undeniably enjoyable, and fans will have a hard time disputing this unusual pairing when they hear the tune. Hear the full song now on Spotify.
Florida Georgia Line are on their Dig Your Roots Tour right now with Kane Brown, the Cadillac Three and Cole Swindell. The Dig Your Roots album impacts on Aug. 26.
