Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley Reveals Intimate Wedding Ceremony Details
Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley swapped vows with Brittany Marie Cole, his girlfriend of seven months, at sunset on Dec. 16. He has revealed some key details about the wedding ceremony, saying that he and his bride "partied and celebrated, but it was intimate…We focused on each other."
The couple wed at its new home in Nashville. There were about 40 guests in attendance, including Kelley's FGL bandmate Tyler Hubbard and Cole's 84-year-old grandmother, but more on her in a second.
Kelley, 28, labeled the ceremony "non-traditional," saying, "If you know us, you know that we really just dance to our own beat. We thought, 'Let's do it our way.'"
"Their way" included exchanging gold bands that were passed down by the groom's parents. Dinner was tapas-style and served in a renovated barn on the property.
Dancing and drinking ensued, and plenty of country music filled the air, according to Cole, 23 and a psychology student at the University of Georgia, who furthered, "But we also wanted songs my 84-year-old grandmother would know."
Another non-traditional element of the relationship besides the nuptials? The bride's short and sweet, white lace dress, which she purchased on Etsy, and the engagement itself. Kelley said, "There was no official proposal or exchanging of rings. We had just fallen in love, and I knew I couldn't live without her. It sounds like a terrible cheesy movie, but when you know, you know! With her, I just really wanted nothing more than to be married."
Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.
