George Strait to Perform at 2017 ACM Honors
The lineup for the 2017 ACM Honors has been announced, and it's a varied list. George Strait will perform as part of the annual awards ceremony, which is filmed live from Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on Aug. 23.
Additional acts set to take the famed stage for a special performance include Kelsea Ballerini, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Brad Paisley, Thomas Rhett and Hillary Scott. The 2017 ACM Honors event will air on Sept. 15 on CBS.
Each year, CBS dedicates an evening in Nashville to those honored with off-camera awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards. This year's winners from the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards include Ballerini (Gene Weed Milestone Award), Keith (Poet’s Award), Bob Kingsley (Mae Boren Axton Service Award), Reba McEntire (Mae Boren Axton Service Award), Nashville (Tex Ritter Film Award), Dolly Parton (Gary Haber Lifting Lives Award), Shel Silverstein (Poet’s Award, awarded posthumously) and Strait (Cliffie Stone Icon Award).
Winners of the Industry and Studio Recording Awards will be honored, as will Songwriter of the Year Award winner Lori McKenna. Eric Church, who has been named the recipient of the Merle Haggard Spirit Award, and Willie Nelson, who will receive the Poet’s Award, will be presented with their trophies at a later date.
Tickets for the 11th Annual ACM Honors go on-sale via Ticketmaster and the Ryman Auditorium box office on Aug. 9.
