The Story Behind the Little Girl Who Rocked With Jason Aldean [Watch]
Jason Aldean recently rocked onstage with what might have been his tiniest guest star ever. But this 4-year-old's journey is even more impressive.
A YouTube video uploaded by "Baylee Alford - Super B," shows Aldean inviting a young girl, Baylee, onstage with him to rock "Dirt Road Anthem," to which she waves her arm and dances around. As Aldean continues the song, Baylee starts giving high-fives to everyone in the front row of the audience who extends a hand.
The concert is identified in the video as Aldean's July 13 stop in Charlotte, N.C., part of his massive They Don't Know Tour. As the song ends, Aldean hugs the girl and returns her back to audience, a smile gracing both of their faces.
Astute viewers probably noticed that Baylee is missing part of her right arm. Her parents tell Taste of Country that's the result of a riding lawn mower accident she suffered in November 2016. They woke her up from surgery with Florida Georgia Line's "May We All," and since then country music has been a huge part of her recovery. FGL and Brantley Gilbert even sent Baylee a video wishing her well.
These Country Stars Know Tragedy Too
The duo and Aldean are among Baylee's favorite artists, and she managed to score great tickets to the July 13 Aldean concert. The rest you see in the video, but the best part of this story is that through it all, and perhaps thanks to her new country friends, the 4-year-old hasn't lost a bit self-confidence.
Aldean is set to tour through October 2017 with dates across the U.S., including multiple shows in Florida, Virginia and California. Three singles from Aldean's They Don't Know album — "Lights Come On," "Any Ol' Barstool" and "A Little More Summertime" — have all reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart with the latest title track release, "They Don't Know," earning the Airplay chart's No. 15 spot as of July 17.
