Jason Aldean Is Just ‘Gettin’ Warmed Up’ in This Concert Anthem [Listen]
Jason Aldean is getting ready to drop his eighth studio album, and he's letting fans hear another of the new songs, "Gettin' Warmed Up," in advance of the release date.
"Gettin' Warmed Up" shows Aldean back in full-throttle mode, kicking out the jams on a concert-ready track backed by heavy electric power chords for a track that draws on '80s arena rock. Both lyrically and musically, it seems written specifically to drive crowds into a frenzy at Aldean's energetic stadium shows.
"We're just gettin' warmed up, just gettin' started / Already fired up, yeah this party / Ain't nothin' like it 'round here goin' down out here / 'Nother double shot of crazy in a cup and we're just gettin' warmed up," he sings in the chorus.
Jason Aldean's New Album Has a Duet With Miranda Lambert!
"Gettin' Warmed Up" is in the vein of several of Aldean's past fist-pumping anthems, but quite a bit of his upcoming Rearview Town album explores a new, more mature direction, including the album's lead single, "You Make It Easy," and its title song, "Rearview Town," which tells the story of a young man setting out to leave the small town where he grew up, searching for bigger dreams.
"It’s about putting things behind you ... things that have held you down ... and looking ahead,” Aldean says of the song. "When you look at my career and the personal experiences I’ve gone through, it really seemed like a fitting title for this record and it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever recorded. It was important to me to pick songs that have substance to them, I’m more conscious of that these days."
Rearview Town is set for release on April 13. The album also features a collaboration with Miranda Lambert on a more traditional country song titled "Drowns the Whiskey." Fans who pre-order Rearview Town will receive the title song as an instant download.
Aldean will hit the road beginning in May for his High Noon Neon Tour. Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs will join him on the tour, and Darius Rucker is reuniting Hootie & the Blowfish for one night only to open a very special show Suntrust Park in Atlanta, Ga., on July 21. Aldean is also playing a headlining set at WE Fest in 2018 alongside Carrie Underwood and Florida Georgia Line. WE Fest takes place at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minn., from Aug. 2-4
