Jordan Davis Strips Down ‘Slow Dance in a Parking Lot’ for Acoustic Performance [Exclusive Premiere]
Jordan Davis peeled away all of the instrumentation on his current single, "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot," for an exclusive acoustic performance that is premiering with Taste of Country.
The Louisiana native teamed with Lonnie Fowler to co-write the song, which was inspired by his first date with his wife. The lyrics to "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot" celebrate making the most of the moments you get with the one you love.
"Slow dance with you / Spinning you around by the Walmart sign / And moving our feet over the painted white lines / Getting close to you / Making the most of whatever we got / Even if it's just a slow dance in a parking lot," Davis sings in the chorus.
The studio version of the contemporary love song features glossy production, but Davis strips that down in this acoustic performance to offer up a new take on the song that is raw and real. He shot the live take in an actual parking lot to add to the honesty of the moment. Click the video at the top of the post to watch.
"Slow Dance in a Parking Lot" is Davis' third single from his debut album, Home State. It follows the back-to-back successes of “Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me." Davis has been on a career roll; Billboard named him their Top Country Artist of 2018, and he recently won Best New Country Artist at the iHeart Radio Awards.
Davis is also letting his fans get to know him better via a series of Home State Stories videos he's been posing to YouTube. Watch the latest episode below.
