Jordan Davis Ain’t Too Proud to Beg for Tour Dates
As a country star in the making, Jordan Davis is at a point at his career where exposure to new fans is just about everything. So no, he's not too proud to beg when it comes to scoring shows in front of big audiences.
“Luke (Bryan), this is me begging to be on Crash my Playa, Davis teases in a chat with Taste of Country Nights' Sam Alex of his hopes to find his way onto the schedule at the popular music festival. "Please. We gotta make this work. C’mon Luke. Please. I’ll play for free."
For free, Luke!
Hands Off the Beard, Y'all!
Sure, the "Singles You Up" singer's way of scoring shows for his tour schedule is rather unique, but it works.
"Me and Kip (Moore) were out at the ACMs at Top Golf," Davis recounts of how he scored his spot on Moore’s upcoming After the Sunburn Tour. "Kip was a couple bays down from me. I went over and said hello and asked him what he had going on and if he had a tour coming up."
Moore did have a tour in the works, and the deal was essentially cut right there. "He came over a couple of minutes later and he was like, 'Do you want to tour in the fall with me and (opener) Jillian Jacqueline?' and I was like, 'Dude, yes, draw it upon a napkin right now and man, I’ll sign it,’" he recalls. "That's how it happened."
All of this time on the road means not too much time at home, but luckily, Davis' wife understands. "This is the busy part of it and it’s kinda what you signed up for,” he says. “I'm just blessed to be working as much as I am."
