Kacey Musgraves, the "hottest 24-year-old in country music" (as christened by Ellen DeGerenes), appeared on the host's namesake show to perform her hit single 'Blowin' Smoke' on Wednesday (April 10).

DeGeneres is particularly fond of country artists -- especially Luke Bryan and Taylor Swift -- but they're superstars and no-brainer guests, so it's beyond refreshing to see her welcome a newcomer onto her stage with open arms.

Musgraves looked at ease and at home on the national TV stage. She took her place behind the mic and with her guitar strapped to her person to deliver her sassy, slice of life 'Blowin' Smoke' lyrics with lazy, easy confidence. There were lighted trees behind her on the 'Ellen' stage, but other than that, it was a simple production that was steered by her voice and her visage. It wasn't about anything else other than Kacey Musgraves for several minutes, which is fine, since she is easy on both the ears and the eyes.

Musgraves also looked the part of glam rocker with her ombre behead waves, leather jacket and nude heels. She's a potent mix of talent and style. The singer likely won herself several new fans with this performance on a national TV show. She's currently on the road on Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Nation Tour.

Musgraves' new album 'Same Trailer Different Park' featuring her latest single 'Blowin' Smoke' is out now.
