Keith Urban Teases Possible New Song Set for Nov. 8
Keith Urban has been dropping hints about something new that's coming on Nov. 8, but so far we don't quite know what it is.
Urban turned to Instagram on Oct. 30 to share a black-and-white photo of a microphone, accompanied by "11.8.17." He followed up with the clip above on Monday (Nov. 6), depicting the singer in the studio. The clip begins with one simple word: "female." It's accompanied by an atmospheric chord progression punctuated by mellow lead guitar, and ends with the same date as the previous photo.
A series of posts in a thread on a prominent music industry message board offer a mix of speculation and possible evidence that Urban is releasing a new single titled "Female" on Wednesday that could feature Pink, and that she'll be joining him to perform the new song at the 2017 CMA Awards that evening.

One poster suggests that Shane McAnally, Nicolle Galyon and Ross Copperman co-wrote the song, and another claims that Galyon and Nicole Kidman provided background vocals on the track.
Urban has had no comment apart from his IG teases. If he does release a new song, it will be the first taste fans have had of Urban's next album, which will be his 10th overall studio release. His most recent record, Ripcord, was released in May of 2016 and has landed a huge string of hit singles including "Blue Ain't Your Color," which scored Urban nominations for both Single and Song of the Year at the 2017 CMAs.
Urban is also nominated in the categories of Male Vocalist, Music Video and Entertainer of the Year, tying him with Miranda Lambert as the most-nominated artists in 2017.
