Kenny Chesney scores his 22nd career chart-topping hit this week as he takes his latest single, 'Live a Little,' all the way to No. 1 on both the Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Billboard country singles charts. The tune was a hit in Chesney's mind from the minute he heard the song, which was penned by David Lee Murphy and Shane Minor.

Both songwriters had Chesney in mind when it came time to pitch the song around town. "It's just a fun, light, uptempo song, which are the kind of songs that I like to write," Murphy has told Taste of Country. "It's a song that encourages you to just forget about everything else and have a good time, step back and smell the roses. It’s an escape. When we finished writing it, Shane and I were sitting there going, ‘Man … Kenny could kill this!'"

'Live a Little' has become Chesney's third consecutive No. 1 hit from his 'Hemingway's Whiskey' album, following chart-toppers 'The Boys of Fall' and 'Somewhere With You.'

"I’m going to keep reminding people through music that you’ve got to love life, and you’ve got to live it and you can’t work all the time," Chesney says in a press release. "I look at myself in the mirror and say that every single day, and I hope to think I’m getting a little better at it. You've got to 'Live a Little!'"
