May would be a pretty nice time to be a celebrity, since you might have the chance to head out to the Atlantis in the Bahamas and take a swing at the 11th annual Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament. Taking place May 25-27, the televised golf tournament will take place at the Ocean Club Golf Course and will raise money for two great organizations.

More than pulling his weight in this fundraising effort will be Kenny Chesney, who has actually been an advocate of the non-profit for some time now. Chesney will be offering up a live benefit concert at Atlantis on Saturday, May 26, just before kickstarting his Brothers of the Sun Tour in June.

Chesney's show is just part of the overall fundraising effort, which will raise money for PLAN!T NOW (P!N), an organization that has given more than $100,000 worth of scholarships to students affected by natural disasters, as well as The Motion Picture & Television Fund, which provides charity services to those in the entertainment community.

“We are excited to host Michael Douglas & Friends to benefit MPTF and P!N this coming Memorial Day weekend,” said President and Managing Director of Kerzner International Bahamas George Markantonis. “We expect a significant impact for the tournament’s first year at Atlantis by having the event co-hosted by Morgan Freeman as well as a special performance by country star Kenny Chesney. We know our amazing property and spectacular golf course will make a perfect home for this wonderful event.”

To date, the Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament has raised more than $10 million for The Motion Picture & Television Fund. In addition to jumping back into his Brothers of the Sun Tour in June, Chesney will also be releasing a new, still untitled, record.
