Country Fashion at the Kentucky Derby

The 138th running of the Kentucky Derby is on Saturday (May 5) and as always, the stands and celebrity suites will be packed with country stars. A few have made the Kentucky Derby an annual pilgrimage, while others only show up once in awhile. Like award shows, it's almost more fun to watch the broadcast to see what the stars will wear as it is to see who wins.

Big hats are the norm for the women, and loud, colorful jackets and dress shirts are the uniform for men -- especially those attending their first Derby. As you'll see in the pictures assembled in this list of country stars at the Kentucky Derby, the older and more experienced the Derby fan is, the quieter his dress becomes. The same can't be said for female singers, however. Miranda Lambert, Laura Bell Bundy and LeAnn Rimes all impress with famous Churchill Downs headwear and colorful dresses.
