Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley to Fire Up the Big Green Egg This Thanksgiving
When Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum gave bandmate Charles Kelley a green ceramic charcoal cooker for his birthday (otherwise known as the Big Green Egg), she probably didn't anticipate he'd use it for the biggest feast day of the year -- Thanksgiving.
Kelley has secured the turkey duties in his family this year, taking over for wife Cassie. "I'm gonna try it on the Green Egg," Charles exclaims to ABC News Radio (quote via Country Weekly).
"I'm kind of getting into it. So I'm going to give it a shot," he adds. "I'll have to go online and do some research, make sure I don't mess it up."
Kelley's fellow Lady A member, Dave Haywood, had the wise suggestion that he do a test turkey, just to make sure the Big Green Egg doesn't turn into a Big Gross Mess on Turkey Day.
Even if he did screw up the bird, there's usually plenty to go around the Thanksgiving table even without it. But here's to hoping that the 'Downtown' singer will follow the 'compass' (aka directions) and present his house guests with a golden, charcoal-cooked turkey on the biggest eating day of the year!
