Lauren Alaina turned to social media to share a sweet photo of herself with Randy Travis and some words of tribute.

As he regains strength following a debilitating stroke in 2013, Travis has been surprising young country stars left and right. Alaina got to meet Travis during the 2017 CMA Fest, and she turned to Instagram on Tuesday (July 25) to relive the special moment and share a beautiful photo of the two. "Mr. Randy Travis, I'll remember your kindness 'Forever and Ever, Amen.' #throwbacktoCMAfest," she writes alongside a picture of her and the legend backstage at the festival, beaming at the camera.

In addition to meeting Alaina, Travis also surprised the crowd during Michael Ray's set at the festival when he joined him on stage to sing his signature hit, “Forever and Ever, Amen," as the crowd sang along, with Travis himself taking on the final "amen."

Best of Randy Travis Through the Years

Along with Ray, Travis has also made special appearances at performances by Scotty McCreery and Kane Brown, along with showing up to a variety of events in Nashville including the 50th annual CMA Awards, the CMA Country Christmas taping and Charlie Daniels' 2016 Volunteer Jam.

In a recent interview, Travis' wife Mary, who's been faithfully by his side as he recovers from the stroke, revealed that he has gotten much better since the near-deadly event. His heart is almost "perfect" following a virus that had infected it, and he's only getting stronger when it comes to speech and his walking ability. “It got to the point where they had given up hope, but the beautiful thing was, Randy… Randy and God have this thing going on. He’s so brave, so courageous. He never once gave up," she says.
