Lauren Davidson Is ‘Soaking Up Every Second’ of Life in New Single [Exclusive Premiere]
Lauren Davidson is releasing a new single titled "Soaking Up Every Second," and she's letting Taste of Country readers hear it first. The New York and Jersey-based singer-songwriter reminds us all to be present in the moment in the up-tempo new track.
Davidson teamed with Adam McDonough to write the song. Grammy Award nominee Bart Migal — whose credits include Bjork and Jessica Simpson — co-produced the track with Cristian Camilo Castro, whose has also worked with Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and more. The track is an audio example of the unique style Davidson terms "Urban Country," juxtaposing singer-songwriter influences, contemporary country and rock. A press release lists influences including Grace Potter, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris and Little Big Town.
The lyrics to "Soaking Up Every Second" are an unabashed celebration of making the most out of every moment.
"I've been waiting at the station / But when the train comes, I ain't gonna take it / Life is rolling, set in motion / But I'm gonna stop here in my tracks / I won't wish away my life / Waste away my time / I just wanna make the most of where I'm headed / I'm soaking up every second," she sings in the exuberant chorus.
"I’m so excited to get this song out to the world. I knew the day we wrote it it was something special," Davidson tells us. "It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and wish time away looking forward to the next and the next, but sometimes you just have to take a breath and soak it all in as it happens. This song is a reminder to myself and I hope to everyone who listens to it to enjoy every moment, little or big, and soak it all in!"
"Soaking Up Every Second" is set for release on Friday (Sept. 27). It is currently available for pre-order across a variety of digital music providers.
Davidson has also opened for prominent country artists including Old Dominion, Justin Moore, Carly Pearce, Rodney Adkins and more. Keep up with her live schedule via her official website, and stay up-to-date by following her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
