Luke Combs loves to hang out with his buddies like Brantley Gilbert, so much so that he's taking up a new sport to get more hang time.

The "Hurricane" singer tells Taste of Country Nights that in addition to hunting, Gilbert really loves a good round of golf.

"He plays a lot of golf. He's apparently pretty good," Combs says. "I don't know, I haven't been yet. I actually just bought a set of clubs yesterday so I can get out, 'cause everybody's always going to golf, and I'm like the only guy in the venue, twiddling my thumbs all day. I've never played a round."

Combs has been to a driving range, however. "I'm actually not bad, I'm actually not terrible. Not as bad as you would think for someone who's never played. I was actually out there a couple of hours yesterday. What a frustrating game, I'll tell you what. I haven't even played the game yet, but just hitting the ball is frustrating enough."

The singer is set to release his debut album, This One's for You, on June 2. The project has been a long time coming; in fact, he reveals that it's been finished since March of 2016.

"I'm very excited about it. It's obviously a labor of love for me," he says. "I co-wrote all of the songs on the album with some friends of mine, so I'm just excited for people to finally hear what I've been working on for so long."
