Former Steel Magnolia singer Meghan Linsey has some exciting news for her fans: She's going to appear on 'The Voice'!

The singer took to Facebook on Feb. 6 to post a picture, announcing that she had auditioned for the show. "Surprise!!! Check out the season premiere on February 23rd to to see how I did!!!" she wrote as the caption.

Linsey first rose to prominence when she and then-fiance Joshua Scott Jones won Season 2 of the reality television show 'Can You Duet?' as Steel Magnolia. Despite breaking off the engagement, the pair continued touring together until early 2014, when they decided to pursue solo careers.

That's worked in her favor, as Linsey's new single, 'Try Harder Than That,' has received positive attention for its sharp lyrics and playful critique of bro-country culture. Linsey penned the song with co-writers Cory Crowder and James Otto, and she collaborated with rapper Bubba Sparxxx for the music video.

Her EP is now available on iTunes and other digital outlets. 'The Voice' will kick off its new season on Feb. 23. Linsey's fans -- and country fans in general, as Blake Shelton returns as a coach -- will want to tune in.
