Michael Ray mixes good looks with a white-hot country-rocker called “Kiss You in the Morning.” There are certainly worse ways to kickstart a career.

Ray’s sexy single finds him kissing his lover at any and every opportunity. The long list of places and ways he’s looking to put his lips on this girl is sure to grab one’s attention. It may even cause a few traffic accidents:

“I wanna kiss you in the parking lot / Under the moonlight / Kiss you running red lights / Baby set the mood right, just like / Everything you’re doing to me right now is making me crazy,” he sings to begin the chorus before:

I wanna kiss you on the dancefloor / Kiss you like a lets go, come on / Baby let me hear you say oh, oh / I wanna kiss you with the neon light in your eyes glowing / Then I wanna kiss you in the morning.

The arrangement of this Florida-raised singer’s first single on Warner doesn’t separate it from much of what’s on the radio, but his lyrics and vocal performance do. He doesn’t use the song to show his range. It’s more of a storyteller’s track.

Oh you little outlaw / Stealing my heart and all / When you drop it down low, touch your toes / Girl you know you just showin' off / That little tattoo on your tan line, oh my / Pretty little butterfly / What else have you got to hide,” Ray sings during the second verse.

With spring and summer just weeks away (or so we hear), Ray’s easily digestible love song feels right. It’s not country poetry, but it is a good time wrapped in three-plus minutes of country rock.

Why Fans Will Love It: "Kiss You in the Morning" is easy to embrace and a lot of fun to enjoy. It's a great summer love song.

Key Lyrics: “I wanna kiss you on the dancefloor / Kiss you like a lets go, come on / Baby let me hear you say oh, oh / I wanna kiss you with the neon light in your eyes glowing / Then I wanna kiss you in the morning.

Did You Know?: Ray may look familiar — he won the CW reality show The Next in 2012.
