Morgan Wallen flipped over and smashed a piano onstage at a Still the Problem Tour stop in Denver, Colo. on Friday night (May 29.)

The incident occurred after some technical difficulties with the instrument. Wallen was sitting at the piano to perform his ballad "Sand in My Boots," and getting visibly frustrated that it wasn't working as intended.

Finally, he got up to finish the song a cappella — then came back to topple the piano over.

One fan shared video of the moments leading up to the flip.

Wallen seems to be getting increasingly frustrated as he sits at the piano bench: At one point, he stops and puts his hands on his hips, seemingly considering the best way to handle the problem.

Then, after singing the song, he comes back to give the piano a big shove.

According to the video, it looks like some portions of the instrument broke when Wallen flipped it.

Several pointed to the incident as an example of some larger temper issues. It's not the first time that Wallen has gone viral for throwing an object. In April 2024, he was arrested for throwing a chair from the sixth-story roof of Eric Church's bar in downtown Nashville.

He ultimately pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in connection with the incident, and was sentenced to two years of probation.

Of course, the two incidents were pretty different, since the chair-throwing event involved property that wasn't Wallen's and could have seriously hurt someone on the ground below. The only person who stood to get caught up in the piano-flipping incident was probably the man onstage with Wallen, who seemed to be filming the performance.

Wallen's currently a little more than halfway through his scheduled 2026 Still the Problem Tour dates. Next up, he's booked for two nights in Pittsburgh, Pa.
