RaeLynn Goes to Hawaii to Sing ‘God Made Girls’ With Special Fan [Watch]
RaeLynn got to experience the magic of making a fan's dream come true when she met Keira from Make-A-Wish Hawaii. The singer turned to Instagram to give fans a look at the moving experience, which included a duet of Keira's favorite song by the country star.
RaeLynn ventured to the island of Oahu, Hawaii for the Wish! In the Wild West Gala at the Four Seasons Resort on Saturday (May 5), a country-themed event benefiting the organization that helps fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. While there, she got to perform with Keira the song that's forged a bond between the two, bringing pure joy to Keira and her family.
In RaeLynn's first Instagram video, Keira's dad explains how when she was 10 years old, she started singing "God Made Girls" for a year straight, unaware that it was a country song.
"I said 'Keira, you're singing country,' and she's like, 'What's country?' I said, 'Let me tell you what country's all about," her dad shares on stage in front of the audience of patrons who donated to the cause, many of whom dressed for the occasion in western wear and cowboy hats. Keira donned a pretty white dress, cowboy hat and boots with a colorful lei.
"You are a great artist. You're a great new talent," he continues while RaeLynn holds his daughter's hand. "Thank you so much for coming out to support my daughter. She wants to be a singer just like you and a songwriter."
After spending so many days singing it solo, Keira's dream finally came true when she got to sing "God Made Girls" with RaeLynn herself, making for the perfect duet partner while showing off her own beautiful voice, with the crowd cheering in support.
It seems like the unforgettable experience was just as inspiring for RaeLynn as it was for Keira and her family. After the show, RaeLynn spent some time with them backstage, with Keira's mom giving her an appreciative hug and kiss before RaeLynn does the same to her beloved fan, encouraging her to keep writing.
"Keira is the real reason I came to Hawaii and is the real reason I make music," she writes in the Instagram caption, calling Keira "an absolute miracle sent to this world." "Her heart, her talent and her beauty shine so much when you meet her and shined even more on stage last night. Thank you for making me your wish Keira because you made my wish too, the wish of showing me I’m exactly where God wants me to be. You and your family have my heart. I’m still in Awe of this whole experience."
RaeLynn recently added another song to her catalog with current single "Queens Don't." Her debut studio album Wild Horse debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart in 2017.
