'Life Is a Highway' isn't originally a Rascal Flatts song, but it quickly became one following the trio's cover of the song for the 2006 animated film 'Cars'. The Rascal Flatts version became a huge hit, earning a place in the Top 10 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Pop 100 charts.

The 'Life Is a Highway' music video worked in direct conjunction with the release of Disney/Pixar's big mid-decade flick. As the music video opens, Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney pull into a drive-in theater in cars depicting the characters -- Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson and Mater -- from the film. While the band performs 'Life Is a Highway' on stage, clips of scenes from the movie play behind them, as if the musicians are a real-life part of the animated adventure.

Despite being tied to a movie soundtrack, 'Life Is a Highway' sprouted wings and took off on its own -- the song appeared on the band's first greatest hits album and made waves on many top charts. It was never officially released to country radio, but that didn't stop country stations from playing their new favorite from Rascal Flatts, and 'Life Is a Highway' nested comfortably in the Top 20 of the Hot Country Songs chart.
