Russell Dickerson has toured with both Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett, but before they were performing for packed arenas in their careers, they were friends.

Dickerson tells Taste of Country Night's Sam Alex how he's been longtime pals with FGL's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, even writing songs with the duo back in the day during their time at Belmont University (long before they exploded on country radio with "Cruise"). The "Yours" singer actually met Rhett and his wife Lauren at a dinner part at Hubbard's farmhouse, a lavish estate outside Nashville that makes for the ideal party location.

"The farmhouse is so awesome because there's so much to do," Dickerson raves about Hubbard's house, saying it has "everything you could possibly dream of having" including a basketball court, professional dirt bike track, pool and hot tub. "It's just always a good time to hang out."

Dickerson's debut album Yours dropped on Oct. 13, and he cites "You Look Like a Love Song" and "Twentysomething" as he and wife Kailey's favorite songs. His wife connected with the track, which tells the story of being thrown into the world during a crucial decade of one's life.

"It's about being in your 20s and how crazy it is," the singer explains, tying in milestones like graduating from college, getting married, buying a house and facing a pile of student loans. "And all of that happens in your 20s. It's about how crazy life is, but how crazy in love you are."

Dickerson has a packed tour schedule lined up through the end of the year.
