Get Drunk on Ryan Hurd’s ‘Love in a Bar’ Video [Exclusive Premiere]
Ryan Hurd is one of country music's hottest new artists, and he's letting Taste of Country readers see his brand new "Love in a Bar" music video before anyone else.
Hurd is already well-known as a songwriter in Nashville. Artists including Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Maren Morris, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line and many more have recorded his songs, and he scored his first No. 1 hit in 2015 with "Lonely Tonight," which earned Grammy and CMA nominations after Shelton and Ashley Monroe recorded it and released it as a duet.
The Chicago-born, Michigan-raised singer-songwriter has been recording his debut album for Sony Music Nashville, and the first song released to Spotify, "We Do Us," earned more than 2 million streams in just three weeks. Hurd is received widespread praise, having already been featured in Vevo's Dscvr program, Rolling Stone Country's Artists You Need to Know and CMT's Listen Up Artists of 2016.
His friend and frequent co-writer, Aaron Eshuis, produced the tracks for Hurd's album. Hurd worked with director Joseph Llanes and producer Jenny Llanes on the gritty, realistic "Love in a Bar" video, which features the soulful singer in a dimly-lit bar where a spark of romance blossoms between two friends, helped along by a little Corona truth serum. The clip intersperses shots in the bar with footage of Hurd and his band performing the song live.
"I'm really excited to have a visual story for 'Love in a Bar,'" Hurd tells ToC. "The video captures the rock 'n' roll quality of the song and the smoke and darkness of a bar. It's awesome to finally have it out."
"Love in a Bar" is available via Spotify and all streaming partners. For more information on Ryan Hurd, visit his website, or keep up with him on Facebook and Twitter.
