Taylor Swift may have had a lot of whirlwind romances and courtships -- but they usually only last in the three-to-four month range. She distills that experience into her songs, which connect her to fans. But at the end of the day, Swift is still a novice when it comes to the long-term, serious relationship, insisting that she has no idea how to navigate that concept, but would like some practice.

In her January cover for the U.K. edition of Cosmopolitan, Swift confesses that she doesn't know "how to make them last" when it comes to long-term commitments. She adds, "I've never had a really long relationship, so I have no idea what that's like. Wish me luck for the future!"

Currently, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter is trying her luck with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, with whom she has been photographed hanging out with a lot this past week.

In the interview, Swift also insisted that she is not picky when it comes to the people she dates. The only thing she is concerned with is their character; jobs, height and everything else is secondary. "I really don't have any rules about dating when it comes to height, age, career choice, anything like that," she reveals. "It doesn't matter. It's really more about strength of character. When it comes to age I've been all over the map!"

Styles is 18 and she's a few years older (almost 23, actually), so there is a bit of an age gap, but they do look happy in the paparazzi shots that have circulated, especially those of their romantic afternoon stroll through NYC's Central Park.

Age is just a number. We hope Swift is able to find the love she is looking for.
