Taylor Swift Donates Red Shoes to Raise Money for Charity
When it comes to charity, superstar Taylor Swift is putting her money where her feet are. The 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' singer has donated a pair of her own red shoes for an online auction to raise money for a charity that provides shoes to people living in poverty.
Swift's autographed red flats are part of a fundraising bid by an organization called Soles4Souls. The auction also includes shoes from a host of other celebrities, including Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Fallon, Kathie Lee Gifford and Tom Brokaw. There are also opportunities to bid on four destination vacation packages, as well as a 12-person race team for Ragnar Relay.
“For most celebrities, the shoes they wear are an important reflection of their personality and fashion taste. But for millions of adults and children around the world, their shoes are a necessity to protect them from life-threatening diseases like hook worm,” says Kevin Goughary, CEO of Soles4Souls (quote via Country Music Tattletale). “This auction is a perfect example of one person’s shoes being able to make a real world difference in someone else’s life.”
The online auction runs through Sept. 13. To bid on Taylor Swift's shoes, or for more information about Soles4Souls, visit this link.
