Thomas Rhett Is Still Reeling Over His ‘Surreal’ 2017 ACM Awards Wins
Thomas Rhett is still on cloud nine after taking home two of the biggest awards of the night at the 2017 ACM Awards.
Scoring wins in the categories of Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Die a Happy Man," Rhett tells Entertainment Tonight that he's still reeling from his big wins. "It's just amazing. You know, winning Song of the Year was pretty spectacular, because 'Die a Happy Man's' first win ever was last year at this same awards show for Single of the Year. So, I feel like this song has given me a year's worth of benefits," Rhett says about the special song. "And then Male Vocalist, still don't have really much to say about. That is the most surreal award I've ever been given."
He also reveals that even though his wife Lauren is well into her pregnancy, there's no slowing her down when it comes to celebrating his victories. "For being 22 weeks pregnant, that girl is ready to party," the country star admits, calling her "the best craps player."
"If you get the chance to sit at a table with Lauren, you will sit there for an hour while she rolls dice. It's amazing," he adds. "It really is."
The ACM Awards winner is now looking ahead to his third studio album, which is due out in late 2017. Rhett describes the new project as "all over the place." He collaborated with another one of the genre's trailblazing acts, Maren Morris, on the album's first single, "Craving You." The two stars performed the song for the first time live during the 52nd annual awards show.
