Tim Hicks Transports Fans to WWII in ‘Slide Over’ Video [Premiere]
Canadian country artist Tim Hicks has released a personal new video. "Slide Over" mirrors the love he has for his wife, Amanda.
The powerful three-minute video shows Hicks aboard a train. As he slides over in the seat, he finds an old love letter that transports the viewer back in time to World War II, where a couple is saying their goodbyes before the soldier leaves for battle.
"Tonight I need to get you closer, slide over ... there's too much between us, we ain't sitting near enough," he sings in the catchy "Slide Over" chorus.
Images of the couple on a bench before the soldier boards the train are spliced between Hicks singing the song in front of the train. The soldier gives his girl a necklace to remember him by, and she hands him a note, motioning for him to put it in his pocket to read later. Watch the storyline come vividly to life in the video above, premiering exclusively on Taste of Country.
On May 19, Hicks will release his first live album, titled Tim Hicks Live. The singer expressed his excitement in a press release.
“For me, the live show has always been a huge part of who I am as a performer and having captured a little bit of our Shake These Walls Tour in a digital release is really cool," he says. "We started recording the tour as a means for us to critique ourselves on a nightly basis, but when I went back and heard the performances I felt that we just had to share them with our fans. I hope everyone enjoys these songs live as much as we loved performing them on the tour."
Hicks' current studio album is Shake These Walls.
