Zac Brown Has a Rollicking Side Project With Sir Rosevelt [Listen]
Zac Brown Band can tackle any genre in the live setting. A Zac Brown Band concert often features a blend of genres from country to EDM and pop to classic rock, so it comes as no surprise that a side project from frontman Zac Brown would encapsulate several musical flavors.
On Wednesday (Sept. 21), a mysterious new act hit the internet with Brown at the helm. Called Sir Rosevelt, the band released a new song available on iTunes called "Sunday Finest." The upbeat track kicks off with piano accompaniment and hand-clapping rhythms before sultry vocals from Brown are heard. As the track continues with a horn section and foot stomping rhythms, "Sunday Finest" is transformed into more of a revival as it blends gospel, jazz and disco. It's a song that's bound to get the listener's feet tapping and the dance floor bumping. Listen above.
No official details on Sir Rosevelt have been released. A new website and Twitter account show two big, shirtless men surrounding a model-like brunette seated at the head of a table with a cigarette. The hashtag #whoisrosevelt appears below. For more, visit the band's website.
Recently, Zac Brown Band revealed that they're back in the studio and they're going back to their roots.
“We’re going in this winter to make a brand new ZBB record, straight back to our roots, Foundation-style,” Brown says in a video. “It’s going to be an amazing album, we’re very excited to announce to you that we’re making the new one, and thank you again for everything that you do for us.”
The Foundation was the band’s major label debut and featured their first No. 1 hit, “Chicken Fried.”
