One of the final categories announced for the 2011 Taste of Country Awards looks back at the year's top headlines. These nominated headlines dominated the news cycle for days, even weeks at a time, and were favorites of Taste of Country readers. Like all categories in this inaugural digital awards ceremony, the Headline of the Year will be decided by fans. Links to the original reports are included below, in case you're a little fuzzy on some of the details.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Get Married: In May, the two threw a star-studded party that included planned and unplanned performances by the bride, groom, Neal McCoy and Reba McEntire. Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley and Cee Lo Green were amongst the other celebrity guests on the invite list. Venison cutlets were served, and by all accounts enough alcohol was consumed to fill a water tower. Shelton had proposed one year earlier.

Jason Aldean Collaborates With Rapper Ludacris on 'Dirt Road Anthem': Jason Aldean first teamed up with the hip-hop star at the CMT Awards in June, and again at the Grammy nominations ceremony in November. The song was an obvious choice for a collaboration, and the country singer admitted he's a big fan of the fellow Georgian.

Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw Announce 2012 Tour: One of the biggest headlines of 2011 has to do with what may be the biggest concert of 2012. Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are reuniting on the road -- they played a few dates together over 10 years ago -- for the Brothers of the Sun Tour. Beginning on June 2, 2012, they'll be playing stadiums across the country.

Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox Co-Writes Song in Tribute to Caylee Anthony: 'She's Going Places' was written by Cledus T. Judd, who got help from Rascal Flatts Gary LeVox. It was in tribute to Caylee Anthony, the 2-year-old at the center of the Casey Anthony murder trial this summer. For months, the nation was glued to their televisions, and when the elder Anthony was acquitted most were outraged. The song remembered the precious life that was lost, and many country music fans were touched by the effort.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina Are Not Dating: Just days after winning 'American Idol,' Scotty McCreery found himself talking about his love life more than his music career. The "are they or aren't they" talk really heated up after Alaina planted a big kiss on McCreery during the finale. It could have been a fairy tale romance, one fans of both singers were hoping was real. In the end, the two revealed they were just friends, and they remain so today. At least, that's the story they're sticking to.
