2017 ACM Awards Open With Hit Medley From Entertainer of the Year Nominees
The 2017 ACM Awards kicked off with a bang as several of country's biggest names took the stage to perform a medley of No. 1 hits from 2016 and 2017 to open the show.
Jason Aldean opened the set with his fiery "Lights Come On," with Luke Bryan following it up with an equally spirited rendition of the upbeat "Move," which warranted several members of the crowd to dance along to the tune. Florida Georgia Line slowed things down a bit with "H.O.L.Y." Tyler Hubbard showed off his skills on the piano while both guys harmonized throughout the song beautifully.
The guys tossed it over to Carrie Underwood, who brought all kinds of fierce with her performance of "Church Bells," decked out in a stunning gold and silver dress. Her "The Fighter" partner Keith Urban closed out the hit-after-hit performance, calling on everyone in the crowd to get on their feet for "Wasted Time," with wife Nicole Kidman and fellow superstar couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill rocking right along with him.
Each performer who took the stage is up for more than one of the night's awards. All five are vying for the coveted Entertainer of the Year, Aldean and Urban are both nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, while FGL and Urban are also up against each other for Album of the Year. The "May We All" singers are nominated for Vocal Event of the Year for the track. In addition to Entertainer of the Year, Underwood also finds herself in the category of Female Vocalist of the Year.
