The winners in the 2017 Grammy Awards have been announced and it was a very good night country women, although perhaps not the ones you'd imagined.

Tim McGraw, Sturgill Simpson and Hillary Scott were among the big winners in the non-televised pre-show on Sunday (Feb. 12), along with Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and more. Scott won two awards, most of any country artist, for her Love Remains project. Both of her wins were in the Contemporary Christian categories.

Maren Morris was the most-nominated country artist in 2017. She scored four nominations, including a mention in the all-genre Best New Artist category. In the end the "My Church" singer would just win for Best Country Solo Performance, but one could say she was country's biggest Grammy winner after her performance of "Once" with Alicia Keys.

Morris scored additional Grammy nods in the Best Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance categories. Keith Urban was the second-most nominated country singer, earning nominations for "Blue Ain't Your Color" and his Ripcord album in three country categories, however he'd go home empty-handed.

Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney and Chris Young were among the other stars up for major awards. Prior to the show Parton and Pentatonix won in the Best Country Duo / Group Performance category. McGraw's "Humble and Kind" was named Best Country Song, and award that went to writer Lori McKenna.
