Reba McEntire, Thomas Rhett and Other Stars React to 2018 Grammy Nominations
Waking up and discovering you're nominated for a Grammy is probably akin to the excitement of a child waking up on Christmas morning, and many of country music's finest couldn't contain their excitement when learning the news of their 2018 Grammy nominations.
Everyone from Reba McEntire to Jason Isbell turned to social media to comment on the good news after the nominations were announced on Tuesday morning (Nov. 28). "Waking up this morning to the most incredible news. Feeling incredibly grateful," Little Big Town write on Twitter about their three nominations for Best Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Thomas Rhett was clearly overwhelmed by his Best Country Album nomination, while McEntire thanked her team, and the Lord, following the good news of her Best Roots Gospel Album nod for Sing it Now: Songs of Faith & Hope, and Isbell credits his lucky socks for the special honor.
Newcomers Midland responded to 2018 Grammy nods via press release — their breakthrough hit "Drinkin' Problem" scored two nods for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. “The Grammys are the pinnacle of musical achievement and we are so honored to be associated with the caliber of these nominated artists. It’s beyond our wildest imagination to be recognized by our peers in this way,” the trio say.
