Alabama Announce Fan Cruise ‘Festival at Sea’ Set to Sail October 2013
One of the most successful groups in country music history, Alabama, have had a four-decade career that encompasses hit singles, best-selling albums, sold-out tours and awards too numerous to count. Now, the band have revealed a special fan celebration for their 40th anniversary: a cruise.
In a posting to their official website, Alabama announced a fan cruise called the Alabama & Friends Festival at Sea, set for next October.
The cruise is timed to mark 40 years since Alabama played their first gig, which was at the Bowery in Myrtle Beach. Since then, the group's commercial blend of country, southern rock, gospel and pop has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide, placing 34 No. 1 hits in the Billboard charts including 'Tennessee River,' 'Mountain Music,' 'High Cotton' and their recent collaboration with Brad Paisley, 'Old Alabama.'
"Think four or five days, warm weather, beaches, unique shows from us, shows from some of our favorite bands, and a few special surprises along the way," the group members promise of their at-sea adventure. "While we are still figuring out all the details, we hope you will plan to join us next October for the biggest Alabama celebration yet."
Prices for the cruise start at $750 per guest, plus taxes and fees. To be among the first to get additional information as it develops, visit the Festival at Sea's official website and sign up to receive email alerts.
