Those on the American Idol journey are headed this week to Hawaii's Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii, to compete in the Top 40 Showcase Round. This particular trek includes the tough “green mile”, in which the participants present themselves in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie to see if they have made the latest cut.

One particular country-flavored favorite is Laci Kaye Booth, who confidently took the stage this round with the classic "Georgia on My Mind," which she delivered in a uniquely breathy, raspy manner.

There was no doubt that this particular singer has had an eye on the prize for some time. "American Idol is something I've wanted my entire life."I wished for it every single time I blew out the candles on my birthday cake, every time I threw a penny in a wishing well. This has been my wish my entire life," she explained.

"Laci, thank you so much for being on this incredible journey with us," judge Perry told her. "There's a lot of talent, and it's really difficult to get all of them into the Top 20, but I do believe that the timing is right for you."

"I'm going through?" stuttered an incredulous Booth. When that was confirmed, she gasped, "Oh, my gosh. I made it to the Top 20! This is something I've dreamed about my entire life, and I just can't believe it's actually coming true."
