5 Grammy Awards Moments You Shouldn’t Have Had to Miss
If only the cameras pointed away from the stage, then fans could see the best parts of the Grammy Awards!
Sure, there was magic to be found onstage Sunday night (Jan. 28) — as noted in our Top 5 Moments video above — but aren't you curious what happened backstage and at after-parties? Below are five moments that were too good to leave secret. While Chris Stapleton was the big winner at the 2018 Grammy Awards in New York City, everyone won somehow.
The Midland / Donnie Wahlberg Hat Swap
Country music fans groaned when Donnie Wahlberg and Hailee Steinfeld put on cowboy hats, but don't worry — it was country approved! Mark Wystrach and Cameron Duddy from Midland offered their lids for the gag. The actor and pop singer were seated just behind the country group in the audience. We're pretty sure this photo captures the negotiations, with a blue-haired Jenny McCarthy filling in for the pop singer.
Sam Hunt Was There
Well, we think so. At least he said he was there, or was planning on going? Hunt posted this picture to Instagram showing him and wife Hannah Lee all dressed up with some place to go. They look good, right? Too bad we didn't see them.
Reba McEntire's Speech Was Country's Finest Moment
The Las Vegas/Manchester tribute was dogged by microphone issues, but Reba McEntire's speech was clear, on point and perfect. The problem was that it happened during the Grammy pre-ceremony, so no one saw it. We got you covered!
Maren Morris' Gold Dress
Maren Morris' sparkle-studded, barely-there silver dress wowed on the Grammys red carpet, but after the show she played it safer in this gold spaghetti-strap cocktail dress. That's her fiance Ryan Hurd at her side. He looks pretty alright, too!
Hillary Scott WAS at the Grammy Awards
Not only did Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley bring along a cardboard cutout of the very pregnant country singer, she was playing along at home! If you don't follow Scott's solo Instagram account, you missed this gem from Sunday night.
